Referring Providers

2. Nurse Practitioner
3. Midwife
4. Licensed /regulated allied health professional

Select “Sign up” at the top right hand corner of your browser or app and select “Provider”. Then, complete the required registration information and select “submit”. Once your account information has been verified, you will receive a notification alerting you 

that your account has been approved and you may start referring patients online!

Collecting private health information online is strictly regulated in Ontario and requires a safe and secure environment. All access to the system must be carefully controlled and therefore all users must register before gaining access.

Select “Refer a Patient” from your dashboard. Then enter the required information of the child you wish to refer and then complete the short referral process. In all circumstances, we recommend that you discuss the referral process with the family.

Currently we offer consultant pediatricians, registered dietitians, therapists, and specialized pediatricians.

There are no fees for the referring provider. All Ontario Health Insurance Program (OHIP) covered services are free to the family. The family will only be charged for non- insured services which are typically allied health professionals and they will be charged for missed or late cancelled appointments as per our Terms of Service.

Our platform incorporates multiple layers of security features that meet all regulatory and licensing requirements. In addition, we perform external audits and security tests several times a year to check for any vulnerabilities.

WonderMD offers a hybrid care model. Hybrid care refers to the ability of a consulting provider to choose to see their patient either in person or online.  The decision to be seen in person or virtually will be determined by the consulting provider based on the needs of the patient.

The status of referrals are updated within the WonderMD platform once they are completed and submitted.

The WonderMD platform does not use fax machines, electronic mail and traditional mail to communicate with our referring providers. All letters by the consulting provider are sent directly from the consulting providers office to the referring providers or are available in the WonderMD platform. This choice is made by each individual consulting provider.
